Stoves
By
Country:
India
If
you
want
a
real
challenge,
start
collecting
Indian
stoves.
India
is
one
of
the
largest
countries
on
the
face
of
the
earth
as
well
as
a
developing
but
extremely
resourceful
nation.
It
is
doubtful
that
any
collector
even
in
India
has
a
full
knowledge
of
how
many
stove
brands
this
country
has
and
have
had.
With
a
vast
number
of
small
mechanical
manufacturing
companies,
a
large
oil
industry
and
an
extremely
spotty
rural
infrastructure
the
kerosene
stove
probably
is
one
of
the
most
sold
home
items
in
the
country.
However,
Indian
stoves
have
gone
in
a
different
direction
when
it
comes
to
design.
Unpressurized
multiwick
stoves
are
a
major
item
on
the
market,
and
brass
is
simply
too
expensive
for
many
customers
so
the
standard
metal
is
sheet
steel.
On
the
other
hand
Indian
stoves
tend
to
be
more
colorful
than
what
is
generally
the
case.
Indian
product
information
must
be
read
with
some
scepticism.
The
laws
and
rules
for
ads
seem
to
be
relaxed
and
the
language
style
would
be
considered
boastful
by
European
eyes.
The
BTU
is
seldom
mentioned.
The
following
are
brands
I
know
exist
or
have
existed,
but
I
can
get
little
further
information:
