Safety Issues

Fifteen safety rules for using stoves of any kind

  1. Learn how to use the stove before your first trip.
  2. Control that the stove is still  working before the trip.
  3. Do not store your fuel bottles next to the food.
  4. Fill the tank outside the tent.
  5. Don't fill the tank completely.
  6. Preheat well before turning on the stove.
  7. Make sure the stove burns evenly before you bring it into the tent.
  8. Use only clean fuel inside a tent.
  9. Make sure the tent is well ventilated. Oozing stoves develop carbon monoxide which can be lethal.
  10. Place the stove on an even and steady surface.
  11. Keep easily flammable items at a safe distance from a burning stove
  12. Do not spill liquid on nearby items. If you do, remove those items from the burning stove at once.
  13. Do not let small kids come near the stove.
  14. Never fall asleep with the stove burning
  15. Bring spare parts and know how to use them.

NEVER FORGET YOU ARE PLAYING WITH FIRE.
