| Globe
Stove
&
Range
Company
This
American
company
was
located
in
Kokomo,
Indiana.
They
had
two
employee-based
teams
in
the
1916
Industrial
league
bowling
game
in
Kokomo,
which
at
that
time
had
an
active
gas
industry.
Some
time
after
that
they
were
renamed
to
Globe
America
Corporation.
During
World
War
1
the
production
was
partly
turned
to
manufacture
of
war
products:
6-inch
mortar
shells,
packing
cases
and
possibly
ranges
for
military
use.
In
1943
they
were
again
renamed,
to
Globe
American
Stove
Company.
At
this
point
they
were
making
the
world's
first
all-steel
lifeboat
and
liferaft
("The
Kokomo
Kid")
but
presumably
also
stoves. |
