Case
Study:
Primus
96L
The
pics
here
were
graciously
donated
by
Ron
Garratt.

What
we
have
here
is
a
very,
VERY
nice
set
of
pics
of
a
sample
of
a
Primus
96L.
You'd
think
it
was
taken
off
the
shelf
five
minutes
ago,
right?
And
how
many
of
the
original
paper
boxes
still
exist?
The
L,
which
today
is
used
by
many
manufacturers
for
models
who
com
in
tin
boxes,
probably
is
derived
from
the
Swedish
word
'Låda',
which
means
box.
To
state
the
obvious:
the
little
tin
is
for
preheating
alcohol,
the
key
for
dis/mounting
the
roarer
burner.
Note
the
little
round
item
on
the
left
of
the
tank;
the
lid
for
the
burner
hole
has
been
screwed
on.

No
problem
identifying
the
manufacturer
here.
Note
that
there
is
at
least
one
earlier
model
of
the
96L,
which
has
a
different
and
more
ornately
decorated
box.

Ready
to
be
boxed.
Can
you
see
what's
missing?
Hint,
it's
optional
only
-
but
very
natural
to
chug
along.
The
answer
is
at
the
page
bottom....

Solution
to
the
little
puzzle:
this
kit
really
should
have
had
a
jet
cleaning
needle
included.
